Guide Video Duplicate Cleaner

🚀 Getting Started

Welcome to Video Duplicate Cleaner – a program for finding and deleting similar video files!

📋 What does the program do?

The program helps you find and delete duplicate video files on your computer. It analyzes videos and finds similar files, even if they have different names or differ in quality, duration, resolution, and also have been modified (e.g., watermarks added, edges cropped, content of individual scenes changed, faces or objects replaced).

🔧 Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 or newer
  • 2 GB RAM (8 GB recommended for CNN+Faiss)
  • 1 GB free disk space
  • Supported formats: MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV, WMV, FLV, WEBM, M4V, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, OGV, TS, M2TS, VOB, DIVX, XVID, F4V, MTS

📌 First Steps:

  1. Select a folder for scanning in the 📁 Folder Scan tab (you can add multiple folders).
  2. If necessary, configure file/pair filters (⚙️ Pre-filter button) and other parameters.
  3. Choose the comparison algorithm: pHash (slightly faster) or CNN+Faiss (more accurate).
  4. Start scanning with the 🚀 Start Optimized Scan button.
  5. Review the results (video pairs with similarity percentage), optionally use search and pagination.
  6. Mark files for deletion and click 🗑️ Delete/Move Marked. Choose the desired action for the marked files.

💡 Tip: Start with a small folder and the pHash algorithm with default parameters to understand how it works. Once you're comfortable, adjust the parameters and pre-filtering to suit your current task and computer performance. You can use the same parameters for all tasks, but properly tuned settings will give better results.
