🗑️ File Management
Safe deletion or moving of found duplicates is an important part of working with the program.
📝 Step 1: Marking Files
In the scan results (or in the comparison tab), check the "🗑️ DELETE" checkboxes or click the corresponding button next to the files you want to delete or move.
⚠️ Important: The same file may appear in several pairs. The counter in the bottom panel shows unique files for deletion.
📊 Step 2: Reviewing the Selection
The top deletion management panel shows:
- Marked: X files – the number of unique marked files.
- Total size: Y MB – the total size of the marked files.
- Buttons:
- Clear marks – removes all marks.
- 🗑️ Delete/move marked (X) – launches a bulk operation.
✅ Step 3: Choosing the Deletion Action
When you click the delete button (both for bulk deletion and for single deletion via the context menu or buttons on the comparison tab), a dialog with options will appear:
- 🗑️ Move to Trash – the file is moved to the Trash (can be restored).
- 💣 Delete permanently – irreversible deletion (cannot be restored by ordinary means).
- 📁 Move to folder – allows you to select a target folder where the file will be moved (if a name conflict occurs, a number is automatically added).
For bulk deletion, the action is applied to all marked files.
🔄 Update After Deletion
After deleting/moving a file, the program automatically:
- Removes this file from the marked set.
- Deletes all pairs in which it participated.
- Recalculates pagination and search filtering.
- Updates the information on the comparison tab (if the deleted file was selected).
🖱️ Context Menu
Right-click on any file panel (preview or text information) – a context menu will open with the item 📂 Open file location. This allows you to quickly navigate to the folder containing the file in File Explorer.
🛡️ Safety
- The program always asks for confirmation before deletion/moving.
⚠️ Warning: Permanent deletion does not allow you to restore the file via the Trash. Make sure you have selected the correct files, especially during bulk operations.
